This paper describes the phenomena of wave transport of matter. Processes such as Stokes drift, soliton transport of matter, and transport of resonant particles are considered. The results indicate that traditional definitions of the wave concept, which postulate zero transport of matter, are valid only for linear problems. However, finite-amplitude waves almost always transport matter in a medium. Furthermore, wave momentum is determined by wave transport of matter. The paper presents current and promising applications.
